This policy covers the 4DAT Author Operations Center app only. The SPARTAN CODE App — a separate app, already on the App Store — has its own privacy policy on its App Store listing.
PUB 4DAT (the Author Operations Center) is a local-first app for organizing author, book, manuscript, publishing, press, media, event, venue, marketing, sales, website, reader, analytics, task, note, and supporting-evidence information. This policy explains how the app handles information.
The app stores the operational information you enter or import, including titles, author names, publisher information, ISBNs, publication details, operational status, tasks, notes, copyright workflow records, retailer findings, and external metadata snapshots. This information remains on your device unless you choose to export it or use an optional external lookup.
PUB 4DAT does not require an account. The developer does not operate an Author Operations Center cloud database and does not receive your local operational records.
When you explicitly run a catalog or retailer lookup, the app may send a title, author name, ISBN, or other search term to the service you selected. Those services process requests under their own terms and privacy policies. The app currently supports public catalog lookups (including Google Books, Apple Books, Open Library, and the Library of Congress) and optional user-configured retailer-discovery services. No lookup runs merely because the app is open.
Optional API credentials and the optional U.S. Copyright Office eCO user ID are stored in Apple Keychain. The app never requests or stores your eCO password, payment credentials, or browser session. Platform sign-ins happen in Safari, where Apple Passwords can autofill your login; those credentials never enter the app.
PUB 4DAT does not include advertising, third-party analytics, cross-app tracking, or telemetry. The developer does not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, browsing history, financial information, health information, or local operational records through the app.
The optional PRO subscription is processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. The developer receives Apple's standard, non-identifying transaction reports and never sees your payment details.
You control file import and export through Apple's document picker. Exported files may contain the publishing information you selected; protect and share those files appropriately. Retailer and government websites open only after an action you take and are governed by their own privacy practices.
Catalog records remain on your device until you edit them, delete them, or remove the app and its data. Credentials are held in Apple Keychain. No security method is perfect, so keep your device updated and protected with a passcode.
PUB 4DAT is a professional publishing tool and is not directed to children under 13.
We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date above will identify the latest version.
